My wedding is in 2 days.... This is the text I wake up to from my mother. < LM Mother> Yesterday 11:19 PM ...your Aunt Evelyn and Pablo are coming to the wedding and the reception. I just found out tonight. Let me know if you need me to pay for their food. Can you seat them at a table near Edited 01 Se?

Today 6:59 AM Mother. You can't invite people to my wedding and tell me two days before. It's not about the food, it's about the seating arrangements. Everything has been finalized for weeks. I don't even know who Evelyn and Pablo are? We had a couple drop out last night, they can sit there but we can't rearrange the seating chart at this point. + iMessage Edited

monsterdiv We had a few people invite themselves to our wedding and one person tried to add +1 last sec. Talk about having weird conversations with these people. (To clarify) this is was a destination wedding with less than 40 people and we weren't going to have people just come because they feel like it.

pizzasauce85 Not a wedding, but I threw a birthday party for my 13 year old son, so a party planned for that age range. Everything was planned based on rsvp's. 30 minutes before the party starts, one of his guests calls and lets me know she is bringing her 5 year old brother,

who my son has never met. I straight up told her that he couldn't come, that the party was not set up for little kids and I didn't have any of the big activities for him to do. I also didn't want to babysit a kid I have never met before.

Her mom was kinda pissy when she dropped her daughter off over an hour late for the party and made a snarky comment about how much fun she hoped the daughter would have while staring me down. We had no issues with the daughter, she was really nice and I did send a

OneDragonfruit9519 I can feel the frustration from here, calling someone Mother is the equivalent of your mom calling you by your full name.

zyy.gh "Mother" followed by a full stop. That's a whole sentence; OP simply wanted the mom to sit on the word "Mother." for a second, as that word alone was enough to make her realize what's going on. And they say you can't convey tone through text.

final grl My moms random cousin texted her 3 days before my wedding and told her he's coming with his family of 5.... Like where would I find an extra table to put all of you shmucks

Resident-Variation21 My response would have been a simple "no they're not" PomeloFit This. OP's all like "Mother, you can't do this" and then accomodates it. F`that, they're not coming, they weren't invited.

Born-Advice7154 Even with the drop out I would have said her that they are not invited Just Another Scott Yeah who the f wants people they've never met at their wedding? F that noise. The party is for me and people I know.

Western BlueRanger You should have left it at everything has been finalized for weeks, and made it clear that they could not attend; there was no space for them.

No Length 2919 You handled it well. Your mom was honestly pretty stupid for assuming that was ok. And congrats on the wedding!
